The weather held up nicely in Linlithgow for the day bar a wee bit of rain early on, while circled by heavy rain in the surrounding area. So about 100 classic car owners braved the elements and visited Linlithgow for our 12th Classic Car Day & Road Run. With an early start at the Park Bistro the majority of cars elected to go on the road run across the Forth Crossing to Fife and back over the Kincardine Bridge.
The event was formally opened by Cllr Tom Conn and the large crowd were entertained by music over the P.A. and some local getting into the ‘swing of things’ later in the afternoon.
Below are pictures for Best Car of the Show prizes – the 1st prize went to Peter McMillan’s bright red 1961 Karmann Ghia.
2nd prize went to local member Charlie Brown in his lovely old 1928 Austin.
3rd prize went to our main sponsor John Hunter’s very nice 1983 Ford Capri 2.8.
Thanks to everyone who brought their cars and entered the show in pretty grim weather conditions, the show sponsors and organisers without whom there wouldn’t be a show, Cllr Conn for doing the honours, the huge numbers of general public who turned up to enjoy the day, and lastly to all the local businesses in the area who supported the event and who made the day go off with a bang as usual.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next show on Sunday 25th August 2024.
