Diary dates – 2015

Welcome to the 2015 seaon.

This season we’ve changed the date of our regular monthly meeting between April and September/October back to the 4th Saturday of the month as normal in parallel with the farmers market at Linlithgow Cross, but instead we’ll be using the pavement area at the Vennel west of the Library, so we’ve plenty room for the cars.  We got going this season with our annual Christmas/New Year drink & chat in Platform 3….a rogues gallery as usual.

The diary of events so far for 2015 is as follows, but is subject to review and changes.

(0) Saturday 28/03/15 – Maybe an early start up and drive out day if the weather has warmed up enough – it didn’t!

(1) Saturday 25/04/15 – Season official start-up meeting and road run – excellent season start with 11 cars present then road run to the new revamped Newton Inn for lunch.

(2) Sunday 26/04/15 – Drive it Day – Starts at McDonald’s South Queensferry 0900-0930 and 100 mile drive to Loch Earn and Strathyre – free to enter turn up at the starting venue on time

(3) Saturday 23/05/15 – 2nd monthly meeting and road run – great turn-out with 14 cars and the sun shone as well and visited the Newton Inn again for lunch.

(4) Sunday 07/06/15 – Thirlestane Castle Historic Motoring Extravaganza

(5) Tuesday 16/06/15 – Linlithgow Marches Day Procession – we won the Gazette Trophy – prize for the Best Local Entry!

(6) Saturday 27/06/15 – 3rd monthly meeting and road run

7) Saturday 25/07/15 – 4th monthly meeting and road run to participate in the Forth Bridges Festival at the Hawes Pier in South Queensferry – the rain stayed off and an excellent turn-out of 15 cars….admired by Baxter the bear!

(8) Sunday 26/07/15 – Day 2 of Forth Bridges Festival – cars requested between 1100 and 1600.

(9)  Saturday 15/08/15 – Ferry Fair Cavalcade, South Queensferry – time: 1030-12noon (annual invitation received)

(10) Sunday 16/08/15 – Biggar Rally – major classic vehicle show in the show field outside Biggar…definitely worth a visit

(11) Saturday 22/08/15 – 5th monthly meeting and road run

(12) Sunday 30th August 2015 – 6th Linlithgow Classic Car Day……was a huge success once more!

(14) Friday – Sunday 12-13/09/15 – Scone Palace Classic and also the new Ingliston Revival Classic Cars event

(15) Saturday 26/09/15 – Final scheduled meeting and end of season road run – another good turnout.

(16) Saturday 24/10/15 – Maybe the last meeting if weather holds – unfortunately weather was pretty poor but a couple of hardy souls turned out. Well done guys…if somewhat damp.

(17) Tuesday 15/12/15 – Christmas Beer & Chat 8pm at the Old Hole in the Wa’……and definite end of the season!
