The 2nd Linlithgow Classic Car Day was held on Sunday 4th September, again in excellent weather.

The day started at around 0915-0930 at the Park Bistro (http://theparkbistro.co.uk/how-to-find-us.html) next to the Millennium Canal near Philipstoun, east of Linlithgow.  About 40 cars gathered for breakfast and registration and a chat.

At 1030 or so most of the cars headed off on the road run through the hills at Ochiltree and then down to South Queensferry, where cars and drivers stopped up at the Two Bridges Hotel car park for around an hour for a pit stop from 11.00.

At 12.15 or so the cars headed back to Linlithgow, with about 60 cars (see photos tab for pics) assembling for the show in the town centre around Linlithgow Cross, and in the Palace car park. The drivers, visitors and members of the public were entertained until about 430pm by show commentary and music from Radio Grapevine, with the show being formally opened by Tom Kerr, Provost of West Lothian Council.

The ‘best car of the show’ competition selected by the entrants was won by Ian Hogg of the Pre67 Fords with his immaculate 1953 Ford Consul Estate (PHY950); 2nd prize went to Ron Black in the amazing red Maserati Merak; and 3rd prize to Alan Johnston in his cracking Triumph TR4a.  Well done guys!

Drivers, passengers and other visitors once again enjoyed sunny weather, picnicing on the Peel beside the Palace and generally enjoying both the cars and the cracking sites of Linlithgow town centre on a warm Autumn day.
