Well a somewhat dreich and damp 9th Linlithgow Classic Car Day took place on Sunday 26th August 2018.  However we still managed to attract almost 100 cars, which was good going for such horrible weather.  What started off not too badly in the morning for registration at the Park Bistro beside the Millennium Link canal east of Linlithgow for the start up tea, coffee and bacon rolls, and the road run to Queensferry and Boness Steam Railway Museum, steadily went downhill with the downpour in the afternoon.

Here’s a wee video of the car show professionally produced for the town centre BID – https://vimeo.com/287481795/b4dd32ff52

At least it brought out the humour with Steedsy our music and P.A. maestro playing his array of weather related tunes throughout the show….’singing in the rain’ etc…

LCCDay 2018-wet event at Cross

There were the annual prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best car of the show – selected by the driver entrants themselves, and the prizes were presented by Provost Tom Kerr, to whom we give our grateful thanks.

1st prize went to Willie McRae with his 1949 Triumph Roadster.

2018 Winner-Triumph Roadster

2nd prize went to Andrew Thomson’s 1974 BMW 2002

2nd prize-Andrew Thomson

3rd prize went to David Taylor’s 1954 Riley RM.

3rd prize-Dave Taylor

It’s the first shown that all the prizes have been won by relatively local guys or local club members, so well done all.

In 2019 it’ll be our 10th Linlithgow Classic Car Day and the Jim Clark Memorial Road Run to be held on Sunday 25th August, to which we hope you’ll come.

Details of the event will be posted here shortly.

We look forward to seeing you all then.

If you can’t be with us on the day you can always view the show live by checking out the webcam link at : http://www.linlithgow.com/webcam_cross.htm

Show Sponsors

Once again our thanks goes to all of our sponsors this year, together with all those who helped to organise and run the event without which the show wouldn’t happen, and who we hope you’ll all support, and in particular to Robert Callander Optician’s sponsor of the best car of the show prize.
